Columbia Inferno News Release
The Columbia Inferno (3-1-1) and the Mississippi Sea Wolves (2-2-2) meet for the first time this season. The Inferno is in second place in the Southern Division of the Eastern Conference with seven points. The Sea Wolves is tied for second place with six points along with Pensacola and Columbus. Mississippi is in the Central Division of the Western Conference.
Last Inferno Game â Columbia 4 Columbus 5 (SO)
In the first shootout of the season, the Columbia Inferno came up short and lost to the Columbus Cottonmouths 5-4. Alex Burrows scored first for the Inferno at 6:30 of the first period with a pass from Terry Harrison. Twenty-seven seconds later, Paul Cabana fed the puck to rookie Blair Clarance, who scored his first ever professional goal. Columbus answered just two seconds later with a goal by Brad Voth. Tomas Micka will tie game for the Cottonmouths at two a piece at 13:18.
The only scoring in the second period was by Jesse Schultz as he scored his fourth goal of the season at 3:33 to give the Inferno a 3-2 lead. Barrie Moore had the assist. Alex Burrows, with the assist by Schultz, scored at 5:34 of the third period as the Inferno took a 4-2 lead. Columbus held on as they scored two power play goals, including the tying goal with only 13 seconds left in the game.

Terry Harrison has four points in his last three games (2g-2a)...Jesse Schultz has a goal in each of his last four games including two assists (4g-2a)...Blair Clarance scored his first goal of his professional career against Columbus on 10/26...Alexandre Burrows has six points (2g-4a) in the last five games...Barrie Moore has nine points in his last five games (3g-6a).

Mississippi lost last night against the Gwinnett Gladiators 5-2...Jeff Hutchins leads the Sea Wolves with nine points (5g-4a)... Next Inferno Game
Inferno will travel to face off against the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday, October 31st at 7:30pm.

The Sea Wolves will travel to Pensacola on Saturday, November 1st.
The Series vs. Mississippi
The only time these two teams have met was during the post season for the 2003 Southern Conference Championship series. The Inferno beat the Sea Wolves 4-2 games and advanced to the Kelly Cup Finals.
