Inferno Acquire Sparre from Texas

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Head coach Troy Mann announced that the Columbia Inferno have acquired forward Daniel Sparre from the Texas Wildcatters to complete the Derick Martin trade made on March 7, 2007.

Sparre, 5'10, 180 lbs., Brampton, Ontario native played last season with the Wildcatters scoring 57 points (23goals, 34 assists) and 68 penalty minutes in 68 games. In 2005-06, he split time between the Charlotte Checkers and the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. He appeared in 37 games for the Wolf Pack scoring six goals and seven assists. He had 10 points (6g-4a) in 16 games for the Checkers.

"I am very excited to acquire a player of Daniel's abilities," said coach Mann. "I had a very positive discussion with Daniel earlier this week in regards to our organization. Like all players at the ECHL level, it is Daniel's goal to play at a higher level. It is our hope that by Daniel joining the Columbia Inferno organization that he achieves his aspiration."
