Indy Eleven Finalizes Preseason Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS (Friday, February 27, 2014) - With its second season of North American Soccer League play fast approaching, Indy Eleven has finalized a five-game preseason exhibition schedule leading up to its NASL regular season opener at the Atlanta Silverbacks on Saturday, April 4.

Indy Eleven will wrap up its eight-day stay at the Grande Sports World facility in Casa Grande, Ariz., with a scrimmage against the Real Salt Lake - Arizona Academy Under-18 squad this evening before returning to the Hoosier State tomorrow. "Indiana's Team" will be based in the Circle City for the remainder of the preseason and rotate games between NCAA and USL squads throughout the month of March:

Friday, March 6: at Indiana University (NCAA)

Wednesday, March 11: at Saint Louis FC (USL)

Sunday, March 15: vs. University of Dayton (NCAA)

Saturday, March 21: vs. Louisville City FC (USL)

Saturday, March 28: vs. Bradley University (NCAA)

Due to facility restrictions, Indy Eleven's preseason games will be closed to the public, with the exception of the match at IU on March 6, which will be played in conjunction with the annual Coaches Symposium. The 5:30 p.m. ET kickoff is scheduled to take place at Memorial Stadium, with admission free of charge. However, should weather conditions not allow the match to be played outdoors, the game will be moved to the Mellencamp Pavillion and, for safety reasons and because there is no spectator seating area, would be closed to the public.

Fans will be able to follow the action of all five preseason games live via the team's @IndyElevenLive Twitter feed, with www.IndyEleven.com providing post-game recaps and analysis from Head Coach Juergen Sommer.

"We've had a great week of training in Arizona and are excited to add some more key players to the core group returning from last season," said Sommer. "These five games in March will provide some solid competition, allowing our staff to get a good look at the last pieces that will fill out the roster and blend them in with the group under full match conditions."

Just 36 days remain until Indy Eleven's 2015 NASL Spring Season opener in Atlanta on April 4, followed a week later by the team's home opener at Carroll Stadium on Saturday, April 11, against the New York Cosmos, featuring the NASL debut of legendary Spanish striker Raul.
