Indy Eleven News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - Indy Eleven has confirmed six additional player departures from the squad in conjunction with today's expiration of their contracts for the 2022 season. Today's news comes ahead of several player announcements that will start to build the foundation of the 2023 roster for Indiana's Team beginning tomorrow.
The group of departing players includes goalkeeper Tor Saunders, defenders Karl Ouimette and Jared Timmer, midfielders Justin Ingram and Neveal Hackshaw, and forward Manuel Arteaga.
"The reshaping of a roster after a season that doesn't meet expectations always leads to some extremely difficult decisions being made," said Indy Eleven Head Coach Mark Lowry. "When those matters involve players like so many of these six who have left their mark in our community and in our record book, those choices are made even tougher."
Ouimette (108) and Hackshaw (93) both end their five- and four-year tenures with the Eleven, respectively, on the club's top five list in career appearances. Arteaga's two seasons in Indy conclude with his 15 goals ranking fourth on the squad's career scoring list, while the Butler University product Timmer made 63 appearances in his two years back in Indianapolis. The Indy-native and Pike High School graduate Ingram made 30 appearances during his rookie campaign, while Saunders spent the season on loan with USL League One side Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, where he appeared in five contests.
"I want to sincerely thank these men for their contributions to Indy Eleven and the way in which they represented our club and wish them nothing but the best moving forward," continued Lowry.
