
Indiana's fourth quarter binge topples Xplosion

ANDERSON, IN, March 19, 2007 - Corey Minnifield erupted for 35 points to lead Pittsburgh (9-23), but Indiana (23-22) put seven players in double-figures and exploded for 43 fourth quarter points to record a 130-117 victory in Continental Basketball Association action at the Wig Wam.
Coming off a six-day layoff, the Xplosion jumped out quickly against the Alley Cats winning the opening quarter, 31-23, despite playing without the services of starting point guard Lewis Monroe. Indiana, however, responded to teh opening salvo by storming back in capture the second quarter, 33-24, and to take a one-point lead at intermission, 56-55.
Indiana extended its advantage in the third quarter, winning the frame, 31-27.
The fourth quarter became a frantic up-and-down track meet, as each team tossed defense to the wind. The Xplosion surrendered a season-high 43 points in the final period, dropping the quarter, 43-35 and the game 130-117. Indiana won six of seven quarter points.
In addition to Minnifield, Rob Griffin scored 26 points, but shot 0-10 from three-point range. Eric Williams posted his second straight double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Dajuan Tate (14 points) and Shawn Hawkins (13 points) also reached double-digits.
The Alley Cats were led by Carl Edwards 27 points and Josh Murray added 26 points.
Indiana crushed the Xplosion on the boards, 63-36.
In addition to Monroe, Pittsburgh also played without the services of Greg Jenkins. The game marked the return of Marc Williams, who was activated from the inactive list.
