
Indiana to Participate in WNBA Draft Lottery on September 17

The Indiana will take part in the WNBA Draft Lottery next Tuesday, Sept. 17. Participating in the draft lottery for the third consecutive season, Indiana will have the second-most chances (276 out of 1,000) to win the top draft pick. Results of the lottery will be revealed at halftime of Game 1 of a WNBA Semifinals series that will air on ESPN2.
Fever Draft Facts
- Indiana will participate in the WNBA Draft Lottery for the fifth time: 2003, 2004, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
- Among teams in existence prior to 2006, Indiana and New York remain the only teams never to own the No. 1 selection.
- Of this year's four lottery teams - New York, Indiana, Dallas and Atlanta - only the Atlanta Dream have ever owned the No. 1 overall draft selection.
- Among teams in existence prior to 2006, Indiana owns fewer top-four draft picks (4) than any team besides the New York Liberty (3) and Los Angeles Sparks (4).
- Indiana's top four selections in franchise history: Kelsey Mitchell was chosen with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 draft and Tan White was taken with the No. 2 pick in 2005. Teaira McCowan was selected with the No. 3 overall pick in 2019 and Tamika Catchings was the No. 3 pick in 2001.
