Indiana Ice News Release

After scoring eight goals in the third period of their previous three games, the Indiana Ice were in good shape, holding a 3-2 lead heading to the third period of their Friday matchup with the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

The third period was not the charm as the Lumberjacks reversed Indy's 3-2 advantage in a span of just over two minutes into a 4-3 winning margin. The pair of goals 2:18 apart gave Muskegon their first lead of the game and held Indy scoreless until the final horn sounded at Pan Am Plaza.

The visitor's tied the contest at 3-all on Max Shuart's goal and Chris Leibinger potted the game-winner.

A goal with 40 seconds remaining in the second period gave Indiana their 3-2 advantage heading to the final 20 minutes. Zach Aman came off the bench on a line change and stationed himself at the crease of Lumberjack netminder Kevin Lindskoug. Drew Smolcynski found Aman from the end boards and Aman buried his fourth marker of the season. Austin Ortega picked up an assist on the scoring sequence.

Aman lamplighter came after the visitors drew even at 2-2 on a Villiam Haag goal at 10:31 of the middle period.

The Ice entered the second period leading 2-1 after scoring the game's first goal on their second shot attempt. Peter Hand blasted a slap shot past Lindskoug from the blue line. His unassisted goal was answered at the 5:43 mark by the Jacks.

Smolcynski redirected a shot by Hand to notch his 13th goal of the season as Indiana regained the lead. His goal came with 31 seconds remaining in the opening period. Rinat Valiev was credited with an assist.

Indy returns for a pair of weekend games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse next Friday and Saturday. The Chicago Steel and Green Bay Gamblers come in for 7:05 faceoffs. Friday's game is presented by RevolutionEYES while Saturday's contest is sponsored by Hardee's.
