Fighting Saints Unveil Third Jersey Friday Night

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Dubuque Fighting Saints took the ice Friday night with a new look, unveiling their new third jerseys to the crowd at the Mystique Community Ice Center prior to a 5-2 victory over Team USA U-18. The new vintage-inspired sweaters are cream in color, and feature the Fighting Saints alternate winged logo on the front of the uniform. The third jerseys will become a regular part of the Fighting Saints repertoire and will be worn periodically throughout the season.
The jerseys were kept top secret until the team took the ice Friday night. Fans were informed of the jerseys being released yesterday, and a teaser photo of the jersey was featured on DubuqueFightingSaints.com and the Fighting Saints Facebook page. Even the Fighting Saints players did not see the full uniform until just prior to puck drop.
The jerseys feature more of a vintage design than the Fighting Saints current red and white uniform set. The cream color jerseys are accented with scarlet red and grey, and feature a lace-up collar. The logo featured on the crest is the Fighting Saints alternate logo that features a winged sword, with the words "Fighting Saints" displayed prominently on a banner draped around the base of the sword. The shoulder patch is a homage to the founder of The Key City, as featured is Julian Dubuque's grave. The grave is displayed in cream and white.
Replica third jerseys are available for sale at for $95.95 during games at the merchandise stand, and during regular business hours at the Fighting Saints office. The Fighting Saints will also wear the new third jersey Saturday night versus the Chicago Steel at 7:05 p.m. That game is "The Last Saints Game Ever."
