Independent Review Panel Overturns Charpie's Red Card

The USL Championship announced Tuesday the red card issued to Louisville City FC defender Wes Charpie on Saturday night during a contest against Detroit City FC for denial of a goalscoring opportunity had been overturned by the Independent Review Panel.

The decision, and the rescindment of the one-game suspension that accompanied it, will allow Charpie to be available for selection when LouCity visits Miami FC on Saturday at Riccardo Silva Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with coverage on MyTV 58/the WDRB Now app, ESPN Louisville's 680/105.7 and ESPN+.

Charpie was sent off in the 69th minute in the first play following the game's lone goal, a penalty scored by fellow defender Sean Totsch. LouCity went on to win by a 1-0 score, extending is unbeaten streak to a USL Championship-leading 10 games.

City continues to top the Eastern Conference table and has pulled to within two points of Western Conference leader San Antonio FC with a game in hand on that rival.
