Independent Leagues complete inauguaral convention and trade show

Atlantic City, NJ__The Independent Baseball Leagues Inaugural Convention and Trade Show was held January 19-21 at the Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City, NJ. Members of all five independent leagues met to discuss long term philosophies, goals and objectives that can be better obtained through the cooperative efforts of the respective leagues. Team owners, league officials, general managers, field managers, and representatives from major league organizations took part in the discussions.

Miles Wolfe, Commissioner of both the Central Baseball League and Northeast League stated, "It is important that the independent leagues work together. We have so much in common. This was a tremendous first step. The influence of fifty or more professional teams working as one can be huge."

Frank Boulton, Atlantic League CEO/Founder stated, "The First Annual Independent Leagues Convention and Trade Show was a huge success for all participants. I personally enjoyed the interaction with other league directors, their ownerships and team personnel. I am already looking forward to our next meeting."

"The Frontier League is extremely pleased to have been a part of such a great meeting of the independent leagues," said Bill Lee, Frontier League Commissioner. "The ideas and information that were exchanged were invaluable to all who attended, it can only make our industry stronger. We truly appreciate the effort of all of those individuals involved in making it such a success."

"The initial trade show was a huge success and featured over 60 exhibitors from all facets of the baseball and sports industries," said Joe Klein, Executive Director of the Atlantic League. "The size of this independent trade show is recognition of the financial growth potential in independent baseball."

The job fair, which was conducted by minorleaguejobs.com, provided the job applicants with interviews for a variety of positions ranging from internship to full-time positions.

With the enthusiasm surrounding the event, The Independent Baseball Leagues Convention and Trade Show will become an annual event.
