Independence Hires Jeremy Weeks as Operations Director

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Independence of USL today officially announced the hiring of Jeremy Weeks as Operations Director.
Weeks, a Charlotte native, brings nearly 10 years of soccer operations experience to the Independence. He most recently was working for Lake Norman Soccer Club as a Tournament Director, Director of Soccer and Director of Club Operations. Weeks spent a total of nine years in various coaching and operations roles with Lake Norman Soccer Club. He also served a stint as Academy Director for the Savannah Soccer Academy in Georgia.
"The chance to work in professional soccer for my hometown team was an opportunity I could not pass up," Weeks said of his new role with the Independence. "I am looking forward to getting to know all the players, staff and many of the fans throughout the season."
As Operations Director, Weeks will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including gameday operations, Ramblewood Stadium management, gameday staffing and player administration. He also will serve as a liaison for visiting teams, referees and the league office. In addition to his Independence duties, Weeks will continue working with Lake Norman Soccer Club in a reduced capacity.
"My main goal for 2016," said Weeks, "is to help create one of the best gameday experiences and build one of the best gameday atmospheres in USL for players and fans alike."
The Independence will kick off its sophomore campaign in late March and will play a total of 15 regular-season home games at Ramblewood Soccer Complex. The complete USL schedule will be announced at 1:00pm ET on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
