IMPACT IN THE FINAL STRETCH OF THE SEASON
The Impact will play its next game on Thursday against the Timbers in Portland (10 pm) and the team will conclude its regular season at home on Friday, September 8, against the Toronto Lynx. The Impact has already mathematically clinched a playoff spot. Six teams will take part in post-season play, with the top two teams earning a bye into the semi-final round. The quarter-final round of the USL D1 playoffs will take place September 15 and 17, the semi-finals will be played September 22 and 24. Winners of each round will be determined on total goals scored. The final is slated for September 30.
TICKETS FOR THE PLAYOFFS NOW ON SALE
The Montreal Impact announced Monday that tickets for the upcoming playoffs were on sale. Tickets are available by calling the Impact offices at 514-328-3668 or via the Réseau Admission. Prices for tickets are $25 for reserved seating, $10 (adults) and $5 (children) for general admission. MAURICIO SALLES ON THE TEAM OF THE WEEK
Montreal Impact forward Mauricio Salles was selected to the United Soccer Leagues First Division Team of the Week (19th). Salles scored both goals in a 2-0 Impact win against the Virginia Beach Mariners, last Sunday, at the Sherbrooke University Stadium. It's the second time this season he receives this honour. The Brazilian forward was also chosen United Soccer Leagues First Division Player of the Week after he scored twice in a 2-0 win against the Toronto Lynx, on July 11.
THREE IMPACT PLAYERS WILL FACE JAMAICA IN MONTREAL
Three Montreal Impact players have been selected by the Canadian national team for a friendly game against Jamaica that will be held in Montreal, at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, on Monday, September 4 (4 pm). Goalkeeper Greg Sutton as well as defenders Gabriel Gervais and Adam Braz were picked by new head coach Stephen Hart, who has been at the helm of the national team since July 12.
