Impact kicks off its 2005 season tonight

The Impact will kick off the 2005 season and the defense of its First Division United Soccer Leagues (USL) championship this weekend with a double header in Puerto Rico, April 29 (8:30 pm) and May 1 (5 pm).

Both games will be broadcast live on the French radio station CKAC 730 and following the broadcast, Philippe Germain and Valerio Gazzola will be taking calls on the air.

This year, CKAC 730 will broadcast 18 games of the 2005 season, one more than last year, including five road games. The station will also broadcast 13 of 14 Impact home games, including the 12th home opener on Sunday May 29 against the Rochester Raging Rhinos along with the two home games "away from home": the August 14th match-up against the Puerto Rico Islanders in Quebec City and the August 28th game against the Rochester Raging Rhinos in Sherbrooke.

Also, for the third consecutive year, soccer fans will be able to follow the Montreal Impact's activities on English-language radio, as 14 games of the 2005 season will be broadcast on CJAD 800, four more than last year. CJAD will broadcast five road games, as well as two home games "away from home": the August 14th match-up against the Puerto Rico Islanders in Quebec City and the August 28th game against the Rochester Raging Rhinos in Sherbrooke. The agreement between the club and CJAD will also span three years, with an increase in the number of broadcasts in 2006 and 2007.

IMPACT ON MUSIQUE PLUS MAY 13

Four Montreal Impact players will be at the "Dicompte Musique Plus" on Friday, May 13, at 2 p.m. Jason DiTullio, Antonio Ribeiro, Patrick Leduc and Sita-Taty Matondo will discuss with Rijean and Nabi about their musical preferences, the 2004 championship and the home-opening game against Rochester May 29th.
