Vancouver Whitecaps News Release

This Saturday, April 30th, the Whitecaps Men continue their 2005 season vs. the Rochester Raging Rhinos. Rochester may not be the tourist capital of the world, but they sure have a great soccer history. The Rhinos advanced to the A-League finals in five of their first six seasons, and have three league titles to their credit.

The Rhinos, who are expected to be strong again this year, will visit Vancouver for the first time since July, 2000. In their lone meeting that season, the then 86ers, edged Rochester 1-0, with defender Chris Franks scoring the winner on a penalty kick. With the exception of veteran defender Mark Watson, Caps bench boss Bob Lilley will have a full roster at his disposal, so it should be a great contest!

Can't make it to the game? Join Peter Schaad and Alan Errington for all the action on the TEAM 1040. The Pre-Game Show starts at 6:30pm! You can also voice your opinion on all things soccer tomorrow morning at 10:00am on the TEAM 1040. The Whitecaps World of Soccer, presented by Soccer City will be delayed from its regular 9:00am start due to Canada's World Championship hockey game.
