Illinois Piasa News Release
PONTOON BEACH, IL. January 11, 2014 - Illinois Piasa announced today that they have parted ways with head coach and technical director Doug Montroy, effective immediately. Assistant coach Ed Rulo has been named interim head coach and will guide the club through the remaining five games in the 2013-2014 Professional Arena Soccer League season.
"We are grateful for the hard work and dedication that Doug has put into this team since joining us this summer," said Jose Delgado, Illinois Piasa co-owner. "As an organization, we expect every player and member of our staff to hold themselves to the highest standards on and off the field and we believe this move is done with the best interests of both parties in mind."
The Piasa has fully cooperated with the PASL with regards to alleged incidents that occurred on December 20 and January 4. The league is expected to issue the findings from their investigation later this week.
The Piasa will be at home this weekend as they play host to the undefeated Chicago Mustangs on Saturday, January 11 at the Field Sports Complex in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:35 PM CST.
