(Southfield, Mich., October 31, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (0-0) will open the 2007-08 season on Saturday, November 3 against the defending Major Indoor Soccer League Champion Philadelphia KiXX (0-1). The game will kick off at 7:35 p.m. EST at Compuware Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. The contest will serve as a rematch between the two clubs, which last met in the 2007 MISL Championship Finals. Philadelphia won that game, and the League Championship, by a 13-8 score. The Ignition and KiXX split six meetings during the 2006-07 campaign, as Detroit finished first in the MISL in regular-season action with an 18-12 record.
This Week
Saturday's meeting will be the first contest will be the first of four meetings between the two clubs during the 2007-08 regular-season. The KiXX, led by head coach Don D'Ambra , look to rebound following a 8-2 loss to the Baltimore Blast on October 19, 2007. Philadelphia finished the 2006-07 regular season with a 17-13 (0.567) record.
