(Southfield, Mich., January 22, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (10-7) travels to take on the defending Major Indoor Soccer League Champion Baltimore Blast (6-8) on Saturday, January 27 at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD at 7:35 pm ET. The second place club then heads home to Compuware Sports Arena to host the Philadelphia KiXX on Sunday, January 28 at 4:35 pm ET in a contest featuring the League's top two teams. The Ignition-Blast contest can be heard live via webcast at www.baltimoreblast.com.

KiXX 8, IGNITION 6 (1-20-07) - The Detroit Ignition (10-7) fell to the Philadelphia KiXX (9-4), 8-6 in front of 6,840 at the Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday. The game-winning two-point goal was scored by Philadelphia's Edgar Bartolomeu with just 11 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The defense was led by another stellar performance from Droo Callahan while rookie forward Mauricio Salles tallied a two-point goal in his first-ever MISL contest.

IGNITION 18, COUGARS 8 (1-21-07) - The Detroit Ignition (10-6) defeated the California Cougars (5-10), 18-8 for the first-year club's fifth consecutive victory in front of a sellout crowd of 3,677 at Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth, MI. The game-winning goal, a three-pointer, was scored by Ignition captain Novi Marojevic at the 1:35 mark of the second quarter. The Detroit offense featured five different players scoring goals while a full team effort on defense resulted in the first-year club registering a season-high 18 blocks.

Upcoming Games
This weekend also marks the fifth of six meetings between the Ignition and the defending MISL Champion Baltimore Blast. The contest will take place at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD on Saturday, January 27 at 7:35 pm ET. Veteran midfielder Denison Cabral and forward Machel Millwood lead Baltimore in scoring, each tallying 32 points thus far this season. The Blast have struggled on the road during the 2006-07 campaign but remain a difficult club to beat at 1st Mariner Arena. When the Ignition last traveled to Baltimore on Saturday, January 6, the first-year club handed the Blast their first home defeat since March 24, 2006.
Sunday's contest in Philadelphia features a rematch of the Saturday, January 20 meeting between the MISL's top two teams, the Ignition and the KiXX. A two-point goal with 11 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter from Philadelphia's Edgar Bartolomeu turned out to be the deciding factor in the 8-6 KiXX win in Philadelphia. The KiXX lead the season series 2-1 with a Saturday, November 11 battle that ended in a 10-8 Ignition OT victory at the Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA and a Sunday, November 19 finished with a 12-10 OT win for the KiXX at Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth, MI. President/General Manager Greg Bibb served for two and a half years as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the KiXX before assuming his current role with Detroit in September 2005.
