(Southfield, MI) - The Detroit Ignition (5-2) defeated the Baltimore Blast (5-3), 19-11, tonight at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore. The Ignition beat the Blast 11-4 last weekend at home.
The Ignition scored nine unanswered points in the first half, as Worteh Sampson, Jonathan Greenfield, Hewerton Moreira and Droo Callahan all notched points for Detroit in the second quarter.
The Blast mounted a come back in the second half, but were never able to take the lead from the Ignition. Callahan, Sampson, Doug Rice and Ignition newcomer Abraham Francois scored for Detroit in the final two stanzas, bringing the final score to 19-11.
The Ignition will travel to Florida on Friday, December 14 to take on the expansion Orlando Sharks (0-9). The club returns home on Saturday, December 15 to host the expansion La Raza de Monterrey (2-6) at Compuware Arena.
The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in November 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
