Ignition Add Depth To Roster With Two New Players

(Southfield, Mich., November 29, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (3-1) has agreed to terms with goalkeeper Tomer Chencinski and forward Leo Gibson for the 2007-08 season, the club announced today. Per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Tomer Chencinski comes to the Ignition from Major League Soccer's Toronto FC. Prior to joining MLS, Chencinski played for Fairleigh Dickinson University where he posted six shutouts over two seasons. During his senior season at Fairleigh Dickinson, Chencinski recorded a .868 save percentage.

"Tomer is a young keeper that we feel will get even better with more experience with the indoor game," Head Coach Bob Lilley remarked.

Leo Gibson played for the Minnesota Thunder of the United Soccer League's First Division before coming to the Ignition. In the Thunder's 2006 season, Gibson was tied for third on the team in scoring with four goals and three assists for 11 points.

The Ignition acquired the playing rights to Gibson from the California Cougars in exchange for a first round selection in the 2008 Supplemental Draft.

The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in November 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
