Ironmen home opener to be broadcast live on SNY

NEWARK, NJ- The New Jersey Ironmen (3-1) are making their home debut this Saturday, and the club announced today that the historical outing will be airing live on SportsNet New York (SNY). The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff with the Ironmen hosting the Detroit Ignition (3-1) at Prudential Center in the Downtown Core Redevelopment District of Newark.

"A partnership with SNY for this historical event will be equally tremendous to the New Jersey Ironmen, Major Indoor Soccer League and entire city of Newark," Ironmen General Manger Tony Novo stated. "This live broadcast is truly a groundbreaking event on all levels."

Handling the play-by-play duties for the broadcast will be Kenn Tomasch. Tomasch, the voice of the Chicago Storm (MISL) from 2004-06, will be calling seven MISL games this season as part of the league partnership with Fox Soccer Channel. He spent three seasons serving as the voice of the Chicago Fire (Major League Soccer) and has called games at all levels of the United Soccer Leagues system. He currently announces college soccer for the Big Ten Network.

Color commentary for the game will be delivered by Sal Rosamilia, former host of a weekly soccer talk show on Sports Channel New York called 'Hot Shot Fever'. The New Jersey native was a two-time captain and 1st Team All-State selection when he played at Kearny (NJ) High School. He went on to have a prolific college career at Columbia University as a four-year starter and team captain while receiving All-Ivy, All-Region and All-America accolades in 1990. He has since served as an assistant coach at both of his alma maters. He has also remained very active in the local New Jersey community over the years by conducting various soccer camps.

After playing four games on the road to open their inaugural season, the Ironmen finally come home this Saturday to play host to the Detroit Ignition with a scheduled kickoff of 7:30 p.m. The team traveled to Detroit earlier this season and exploded for 21 points in a seven-point win. Joining the Ironmen as an honorary captain for the historical outing will be soccer legend Pelé.
