IFL Week Eleven Preview
Published on May 26, 2023 under Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release
Week 11 is almost here and it features some stellar matchups as all 14 teams are in action once again.
The week kicks off with Lorenzo Brown and the Sioux Falls Storm visiting an Iowa team with just one win. Iowa's lone win came at the midway point of the 2023 season over Massachusetts in dominant fashion. But last week they were brought back down to earth in Green Bay. This week will be interesting as they're facing a Storm team who has lost two in a row and is hungry for a win to stay relevant in the Eastern Conference.
Next, a hot Green Bay Blizzard squad visits Quad City. Green Bay is coming off two consecutive wins and looks to prove that they are a contender. The Steamwheelers, sitting second in the Eastern Conference, are hoping to bounce back after losing in Massachusetts last week. Green Bay's offense has averaged over 55 points in the last three weeks. They'll need it in order to keep up with Quad City, led by MVP front-runner quarterback E.J. Hilliard.
Massachusetts goes on the road to visit Tulsa. The Pirates, third in the Eastern Conference, have been a roller coaster as of late. Losing to the winless Iowa Barnstormers but following that by knocking off Quad City. Which Massachusetts team will show up in Tulsa? Tulsa, while only having one win, cannot be overlooked. They have the talent and the coaching to be a problem for anyone.
Frisco, for the first time in 2023, are coming off a loss. How will they respond? They'll need short memories as they welcome the San Diego Strike Force to Frisco. The Strike Force looked good last week in their win over Duke City. It seems that newly acquired quarterback Nate Davis is getting comfortable with his new surroundings. Davis dominated the Gladiators with 208 passing yards and six touchdowns.
Northern Arizona travels to Duke City looking to take back sole possession of first place. The Wranglers are coming off a 26-point loss to the Arizona Rattlers, their first loss since week 6. Duke City, after starting the season 2-1, have lost four of their last five.
Bay Area is coming off their biggest win of the season. How does a team respond to taking down the only undefeated team in the league? Continued momentum or let down game? We'll find out as Dalton Sneed and company go on the road to Tucson. The Panthers will face the inconsistent Sugar Skulls led by Ramone Atkins who are coming off a solid win over Sioux Falls.
The week ends with a matchup featuring two of the of the best quarterbacks in the IFL. Daquan Neal and Drew Powell have both faced injuries this season, but when healthy, they're nearly unstoppable. Both teams are playing their best ball of the season. Both teams are 4-4 and are trying to claw their way back into contention and a win would be huge.
The IFL returns to action on Memorial Day weekend with Sioux Falls at Iowa and Green Bay at Quad City, both on Friday at 7:05 p.m. CT. There are five games on Saturday Night, enjoy them all with the new INSIDE THE IFL LIVE viewing option starting at 7:00 p.m. CT.
