November 9, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Colorado Crush News Release

Fort Collins, CO- Colorado ICE linebacker Landon Jones has announced his retirement from the Colorado ICE Organization and the Indoor Football League (IFL). Jones came to the ICE this past season after taking some time away from football following his graduation from Colorado State University. Jones made the most of his opportunity and proved to be one of the best players and leaders for the ICE during the 2010 season.

Jones stated the following about his experience in the 2010 season, "After a seven year hiatus from football, I entered the season with a much different mindset. I knew what my goals were and I made sure I left everything on the field each week. With the unbelievable support and encouragement from the coaching staff, fellow teammates, and organization I was able to compete at a high level while thoroughly enjoying every second of it. I feel tremendously blessed to have been given the opportunity to play at the professional level with such great people around me. Although we didn't reach every goal set as a team, I believe we laid a nice foundation for this upcoming year's team. I'd like to personally thank everyone involved in my journey because without your support I would never have accomplished the awards I received. This has been an experience I will take with me for the rest of my days."

Jones a 6'2", 235 lb linebacker began the 2010 season as a safety for the ICE, but only a few weeks into camp made the switch to linebacker; which proved to be beneficial. Jones had one of the most productive seasons ever for an ICE linebacker, accumulating 140 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 5 pass break ups. Jones' league leading 140 tackles helped pave the way for him being named the Defensive Rookie of the Year for the 2010 season. Jones was also a nominee for league Defensive Player of the Year and league Most Valuable Player.

Landon Jones was a great representative of the ICE organization on and off the field; representing himself and the ICE in a professional manor at all times. The Colorado ICE would like to thank him for his time with the ICE organization and wish Landon the best of luck with his future endeavors.

The Colorado ICE are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). All home games are played at the Budweiser Events Center located in Loveland, Colorado. Additional information on the Colorado ICE organization can be found at www.TheColoradoIce.com.
