IFL Announces the VidSwap.com Players of the Week for Week 11

May 27, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release

Richmond, VA: The action in the IFL has gotten better and better with each passing week. Week 11 was no exception. A Running back set an IFL rushing record, a team won their seventh game in a row, and multiple teams clinched playoff berths. This week's standout performances were from three young men trying who were the difference makers in their team's victories. Fans can visit GoIFL.com to see the video highlights that made these young men the VidSwap.com Players of the Week.

WEEK ELEVEN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -RB SEAN TREASURE/SIOUX FALLS STORM

The Indoor Football League's rushing leader proved this week why he thinks the Storm can take home five straight Championships. Setting and IFL record for most yards rushing in a single game, Treasure scampered for 167 yards on just 23 carries to go along with 3 touchdowns. That is an average of 7.2 yards per carry. For the season, he has averaged 68 rushing yards per game, and has found the end zone 17 times. If the Storm keep putting the load on his shoulders, look for them to make a deep playoff run.

WEEK ELEVEN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -DB ATCHESON CONWAY/ MARYLAND MANIACS

Winning seven straight games takes a total team effort, and the Maryland Maniacs have certainly proven the team-first mentality. But occasionally a player has an individual game that gets his name noticed above the team. In last weeks tough Atlantic Division battle against Rochester, Atcheson Conway kept the potent Raider offense at bay. The defensive back intercepted two crucial passes and totaled 5.5 tackles on the night. He also broke up six passes intended for Raider receivers.

WEEK ELEVEN SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK-DB/KR RANDY KELLY/WICHITA WILD

If you look up the term "One Man Wrecking Crew" in the IFL dictionary, you would see a picture of Randy Kelly. The Wild DB/KR single handedly took away any momentum or morale the Roughnecks may have had coming into the game. In the first quarter, Kelly returned a 52 kickoff for a touchdown, then following a few possessions, returned a missed Roughneck Field Goal 52 yards for another score. But Kelly wasn't just a force on Special Teams. On the defensive side of the ball, he totaled 9 tackles and scored yet another touchdown when he picked off a Dennis Gile pass and returned it 30 yards for the score.

The season resumes Thursday night, May 28, as the Billings Outlaws head to Alaska to face the Wild. Kickoff is slated for 7:05 pm Alaska Standard Time. Follow all the action at www.goifl.com and on the B2 broadcasts www.b2livetv.com of each game all season long.
