Published on December 8, 2008 under Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release

Richmond, VA: The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the inaugural, regular season schedule for 2009. With fierce rivals squaring off in the Northwest, the Mid-West, Texas, and the Northeast, the league will see each team play a 14 game regular season schedule. An impressive number of nineteen teams will be competing in a total of 133 games between March 14th and July 11th with four rounds of playoff to follow in late July and early August. A total of 12 teams will compete in the post-season with the top team in each of the four divisions earning a first round BYE and four wild cards from each of the two conferences joining them. "We are pleased to have the schedule out so early this year giving more time to the teams and fans alike to prepare for what looks to be an incredible inaugural season!", IFL commissioner Tommy Benizio enthusiastically explained.
