
IceRays Score Early, Lose 5-3

FRISCO, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays scored 17 seconds into regulation, however fell to the Texas Tornado 5-3 in front of 1,837 fans inside Dr. Pepper Arena on Saturday night.
Danny Fetzer scored his fourth goal of the year just 17 seconds into the first period of play as he wristed a shot past goaltender Joakim Jutras for an early 1-0 lead.
The Tornado came back to tie the game at one a piece as Jordan Lovick recorded a power-play goal 6:26 into regulation tying the game 1-1.
The game was tied after the first period, then Joe Smereck scored 53 seconds into the second period on the power-play to give the IceRays a 2-1 lead.
Jack Prince and Connor Burton scored back to back goals to put the Tornado in front 3-2 in period two.
The IceRays tied the game 8:23 into the second period. Travis Maxwell took a pass at the point and went top shelf to even the game 3-3.
The IceRays were on a power-play when Mico Solorzano scored a short-handed goal 12:20 into the middle period to once again give Texas the lead at 4-3.
One goal was scored in the third period as Jack Prince scored his second goal of the game to increase the lead 5-3.
The IceRays are back on home ice Sunday afternoon as they host the Texas Tornado at 3:05PM inside the American Bank Center. Coverage begins at 2:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
