
IceRays' Comeback Falls Short in 5-3 Loss

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Corpus Christi's home woes continue as Louie Rowe provided two goals and the Texas Tornado took game two of the weekend by a 5-3 final in front of 4,192 fans inside the American Bank Center.
Charles Baldwin provided the games' first goal on a short-handed breakaway beating Hunter Leisner just 3:24 into the game for a 1-0 IceRays lead.
Texas answered back at 14:20 when Justin Greenberg snuck a shot over the left shoulder of Hayden Stewart to tie the game at one goal apiece.
In the second frame, the Tornado jumped out to a 3-1 lead as Brandon Hawkins scored at 7:47, then Louie Rowe added his first of the night at 8:51 of the second period.
The IceRays mounted a comeback that started when John Roisum guided the puck through a screen off a faceoff win and notched his first NAHL goal to pull Corpus Christi to a one goal deficit at 10:49.
Then minutes later, Brandon Smith electrified the crowd on a feed from Andrew Paras to tie the game at three.
In the third, the Tornado scored twice. Michael Hoy midway through the final period, then, Louie Rowe with 4:58 left in the game to seal a 5-3 victory for the defending national champions.
Hayden Stewart stopped 35 of 40 in the loss.
