Niagara IceDogs News Release
A five goal outburst in the third period was too much for the Niagara IceDogs to overcome as they lost 7-2 to the Sudbury Wolves Saturday night at the Meridian Centre.
Goals from Matt Schmalz and Nathan Pancel had the Wolves up 2-1 after two periods. Carter Verhaeghe scored the IceDogs goal, his team-leading sixth of the season.
Pancel added two more goals in the third to complete the hat-trick, while Nicholas Baptiste and Pavel Jenys also chipped in goals for the Wolves, who snapped their losing streak with the win.
Blake Siebenaler added another goal for the IceDogs, but it wasn't enough as they lost to the Wolves for the second time this season.
The IceDogs are right back at it Sunday afternoon with a game in Mississauga against the Steelheads.
