IceDogs Fall to Ottawa in Game Two of Eastern Conference Final

The Niagara IceDogs fell to the Ottawa 67's by a score of 7-4 at the Gatorade Garden City Complex Sunday afternoon.

The first period saw the IceDogs get off to a tough start, falling behind 4-0 14:08 in. Alex Friesen would get the IceDogs on the board before the end of the period, making it 4-1 after one. Shots in the period were 17-12 for Niagara.

The IceDogs would come out flying in the second, as Brett Ritchie tipped home a Jamie Oleksiak point shot on the powerplay to make it 4-2. Dougie Hamilton would then bring the IceDogs back with in one with another powerplay goal 4:09 into the second, making it 4-3. The IceDogs seemed to have the momentum, but only a minute later Ottawa would score to extend the lead to two again at 5-3. Ottawa would score once more before the end of the period to make it 6-3 after 40 minutes.

The third would see Ottawa extend the lead to 7-3, before a late goal by David Pacan would make it a 7-4 final. Final shots were 48-35 for the IceDogs.

The two teams will not have much time to rest as the IceDogs hit the road to Ottawa for game three of the Rogers Eastern Conference Final tomorrow night.

With the series now tied at a game a piece, game five will be next Friday, April 27th at 7pm, back at their Gatorade Garden City Complex. Tickets for that game will go on sale through all IceDogs ticketing locations tomorrow (Monday) at noon!
