
IceCats fall to 3-0 series deficit

WORCESTER, MA- The Worcester IceCats lost 4-3 in overtime Sunday and fell into a 3-0 hole in their Atlantic Division Finals playoff series with the Hartford Wolf Pack. Jozef Balej scored the game-winning goal for the Pack 12 seconds into the first OT.
The teams combined for four goals in less than four minutes in the third after being tied 1-1 through two periods. Terry Virtue, Ryan Ready, and Jon Coleman scored for Worcester. Dominic Moore, Chad Wiseman and Cory Larose followed each goal, with Balej netting the winner in the extra frame. Virtue and Coleman scored with Worcester on the power play, while Wiseman's marker came shorthanded.
Worcester's Curtis Sanford returned to action after being sidelined from Game Two. His 32 saves trumped Jason LaBarbera's 24 in the Hartford net.
The series continues with Game Four this Wednesday night in Hartford at 7:05 PM. If necessary, Games Five and Six will also be in Hartford, with Game Seven back in Worcester on May 13.
