ST. JOHN'S, NL (February 25, 2016) - For the fourth season in a row, the St. John's IceCaps and Statoil are Celebrating the Heroes of Tomorrow and are seeking nominations of deserving youth volunteers.

Eligible candidates must volunteer in the fields of youth sports and - for the first time this year - arts, science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Volunteers, 16-years-old or younger, will be chosen to attend the IceCaps March 13th game versus the Hershey Bears at Mile One Centre. Nominations may be made by organizations or individuals by visiting stjohnsicecaps.com/community/.

"Volunteers are truly the cornerstone of our communities and by encouraging and supporting youth volunteers we are nurturing and developing future community leaders," said Danny Williams, President and CEO of the St. John's IceCaps. "The IceCaps are pleased to once again partner with Statoil to acknowledge our youth volunteers and I'm particularly proud to see the new academic criteria added to this recognition program."

Gisle Stjern, Vice President, Statoil Canada, Offshore Canada says Statoil is pleased to partner with the St. John's IceCaps to recognize the accomplishments of Newfoundland and Labrador youth.

"Youth are the future leaders of Newfoundland and Labrador, and together with the IceCaps, Statoil's Heroes of Tomorrow program is proud to share their many accomplishments and exemplary leadership in sports, arts science, technology, engineering and mathematics," said Mr. Stjern. "We are inspired by their leadership and determination."

IceCaps tickets can be purchased at the Mile One Centre box office (noon-5 p.m.), by phone at 709-576-7657 (9:30 a.m. -5 p.m.), or online at www.mileonecentre.com.
