New Mexico Ice Wolves News Release
Albuquerque, NMÃÂ - The New Mexico Ice Wolves are pleased to announce that we have used our fourth tender of the season on defenseman Jimmy Jurcev, effective 2020-2021. Jurcev is a 16-year-old native of Palos Heights, IL.
Currently, Jurcev plays for Team Illinois U16 (Midget) and has scored 31 points (8g, 23a) in 56 games played, putting him ninth on the team in scoring and second for defensemen. Last season, Jurcev played 25 games for the Chicago Fury U15 (T1EHL) where he tallied five points (1g, 4a). When asked about signing with the Ice Wolves, Jimmy had this to say, "I am excited and proud to sign with New Mexico. I have heard nothing but great things about what it is like to play there." He went on to add, "I can't wait to learn and develop not only as a hockey player but as a person."
Keenan Kelly, the Associate Head Coach of the New Mexico Ice Wolves, had this to say about the recent signing, "Jimmy is a very smooth skating defenseman with a great stick and great length. He has great poise with the puck and never panics under pressure." Keenan went on to add, "We are excited for him to take the next step in his career and look forward to him being a strong addition to our defensive corps next season."
