ICE Will Select 1st and 9th Overall at Upcoming WHL Draft

Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg ICE will add to its growing pool of young talent when it selects first overall at the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft on Thursday, May 2. Winnipeg ICE draft coverage is presented by Canad Inns.
The ICE have two picks in the first round holding the ninth overall selection as well.
Below are the 13 draft picks the ICE hold from rounds one to 10 of the WHL Bantam Draft:

The ICE have chosen in the top two in the previous three bantam drafts. In 2016, the organization selected its current Captain Peyton Krebs with the first overall pick. The ICE added to its young core by picking Connor McClennon and Winnipeg native Carson Lambos second overall in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
In the previous two drafts, the ICE have made 19 selections. Nine players from the 2017 and 2018 draft class suited up in at least one game for the ICE during the 2018-19 regular season including Connor McClennon (second overall, 2017), Anson McMaster (23rd overall, 2017), James Form (45th overall, 2017), Owen Pederson (89th overall, 2017), Ben Zloty (111th overall, 2017), Michael Milne (155th overall, 2017), Carson Lambos (second overall, 2018), Karter Prosofsky (26th overall, 2018) and Skyler Bruce (29th overall, 2018).
The 2019 WHL Bantam Draft begins at 9:30 a.m. Central Time.
Players eligible for the draft will be 2004-born players who reside in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
