INDIANAPOLIS, IN- "Otis, my man!" The Ice is hosting the "World's Largest Toga Party" this Saturday night (2/1) when the Ice plays the Memphis RiverKings at 7:00 p.m. from the Pepsi Coliseum.
Sponsored by Mortgage Group USA and Karma Records, the night will be one for the records (the Guinness Book of World Records) as prizes will be awarded for several toga wearers and the legendary, Otis Day & the Knights will perform their magic in a special post-game concert following the game.
Still voted by many as America's #1 Party Band, hits from the group include "Shout," "Louie Louie," "Money." "What I Say" and "Shamma Lamma Ding Dong." The band is best known however for their appearance in the 1978 classic, "Animal House," for their toga party rendition of "Shout" and then for their appearance at the Dexter Lake Club, which coined the phrase, "Otis loves us.
Prizes will be awarded during the evening for the sexiest, most original and best overall togas. Those resembling the ancient Greeks the best could walk away with an RCA 27" color television, a DVD player, CD prize packs or a trip for two to Caesars, Indiana. Fans might even be put on the ice to sing their best rendition of "Louie, Louie." In addition, anyone who wears a toga to the game can get in for just $8 or $6.
Tickets for those not wearing a toga are as low as $10 for the concert and Ice game and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including select Marsh Supermarkets, Karma Records, select L.S. Ayers and the Pepsi Coliseum and Conseco Fieldhouse box offices, or by calling 239-5151 or online at ticketmaster.com.
