Indiana Ice News Release

FOUR PERIODS, FOUR POINTS: A broken pane of glass on Friday was a blessing in disguise for the Ice as they trailed the Sioux City Musketeers 3-0 before finishing the game on Saturday with a miraculous come-from-behind 4-3 win at Pan Am Pavilion. Scott Conway recorded three points (2G, A) in 18:26 minutes while Denis Smirnov and Tyler Andrew also added tallies in the delayed match. Several hours later, the scoreboard showed the exact same result as Indy notched their second official 4-3 win of the night. Jason Salvaggio, Patrick Newell, Brian Pinho and Michael Booth all lit the lamp for the Ice while Jason Pawloski recorded 25 saves on 28 shots on net.

RESURGENCE: An inauspicious 0-3-1 start for the Ice has faded into the past as Indy is one of the hottest teams in the USHL, boasting a 7-1-2 start in their past ten games while outscoring opponents 37-23 in the process. The Ice's lone regulation loss was a 3-2 setback to league-leading Omaha back in late October.

RAPID FIRE: Although not the quickest in franchise history, it only took Indy 2:24 minutes to rattle off three goals in the continuation of Friday night's contest against the Sioux City Musketeers on Saturday. The three goals from Scott Conway, Denis Smirnov and Tyler Andrew were the fastest three goals for the team this season and the four goals during the third period was a season-high as well. The all-time franchise record for fastest three goals belongs to the trio of Christian Hilbrich (Cornell), Andrew Mayer (Tri-City) and Blake Coleman (Miami) who fired off three goals in 1:07 during Indy' 9-1 thrashing of the Chicago Steel in late February 2011.

"FRIEND IS A "FOUR" LETTER WORD": Scott Conway and Tyler Andrew were instrumental parts of the Ice offense this weekend as the pair both logged four points on Saturday to help capture both 4-3 victories over the Sioux City Musketeers. Conway registered three points (2G, A) in the continuation of Friday's game before adding an assist in Saturday's regularly-scheduled contest. Andrew also tallied three points (G, 2A) in the third period of Friday's match while adding an assist in the second portion of the night.
