Zach Benson scored the game winning goal with 6.7 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Winnipeg ICE a 4-3 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings Saturday night at Westoba Place.
Josh Medernach scored twice for Winnipeg in his ICE debut while Evan Friesen had the other goal. Skyler Bruce chipped in with three assists and Jaren Brinson had two assists in his first game.
Brett Hyland, Mason Ward and Nolan Ritchie replied for Brandon.
Winnipeg outshot the Wheat Kings 43-30.
Daniel Hauser earned the win in goal while Carson Bjarnason earned the home side a single point.
The ICE are back in action Wednesday night, 8:00 in Prince Albert.
