Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Two third period goals lifted the Indiana Ice past the Waterloo Black Hawks 3-2 on Wednesday.

After 30 minutes of scoreless hockey, Greg Squires lit the lamp first for the Ice with a wrap-around goal in the mid-second period. Mitch Ryan answered with a five-on-three powerplay goal. Ryan Cramer gave the Hawks a lead 1:10 later.

The Ice took the momentum 32 seconds into the third when John Kemp wristed-in a puck from the boards. A powerplay goal credited to Mike Phillippi with under five minutes remaining completed the change of fortune.

The Black Hawks return to home ice for games Friday and Saturday, hoping the luck of the Irish will be with them during St. Patrick's Day. On Friday the Hawks entertain the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets, with the Sioux Falls Stampede coming to town Saturday. Both nights cash prizes will be randomly awarded by Sands Mortgage, along with green beer and St. Pattie's Day beads at the arena. Both games begin at 7:05.
