Ice Pilots' Hay Named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Pensacola left wing Dwayne Hay is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for December 13-19.

Hay scored five goals and eight points as Pensacola went 3-1-0 with wins over South Division rivals Florida and Louisiana. After scoring three goals and five points in Pensacola's 8-4 win against Charlotte on Friday, Hay added two more goals, including a shorthand goal, in a 3-1 win against Louisiana on Saturday and assisted on the Ice Pilots only goal in a 2-1 loss at Louisiana on Sunday. The 6-1 and 220-pound Hay leads Pensacola with 11 goals and is tied for second on the team with 18 points and two game-winning goals. In his last five games, Hay has scored seven goals and 11 points while helping the Ice Pilots go 4-1-0.

In his first season with Pensacola in 2003-04, Hay scored 59 points (29g-30a) in 62 regular season games and four points (1g-3a) in five Kelly Cup Playoff games. He also played in the American Hockey League in 2003-04, registering one assist in four games with Hershey. Selected in the second round (43rd overall) by Washington in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, the 27-year-old Hay has played in the NHL with Washington, Florida, Tampa Bay and Calgary, scoring six points (2g-4a) in 79 career NHL games.

On behalf of Dwayne Hay, a case of pucks will be donated to a Pensacola area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 10,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01.
