Ice Flyers Win 4-3 against the Birmingham Bulls in Rescheduled Game

PENSACOLA, FL. - The Ice Flyers won against the Birmingham Bulls in the rescheduled February 18 game 4-3. Jessyko Bernard, Kyle Haines scored for the Ice Flyers, with Ken Neil scoring two goals. The Bulls' goals were scored by Craig Simchuk, Graham Yeo and Justin Larson.
At 2:34 in the first period Craig Simchuk, with a pass from Evan Schultz, put the Bulls on the board first. Jessyko Bernard tied it up at 16:31 with a short handed, unassisted goal. However, a minute and 17 seconds later, Graham Yeo scored on the power play for the Bulls. He was assisted by Evan Schultz and Jacob Barber. The Bulls outshot the Ice Flyers 14-11.
In the second period, David Mazurek had an unsuccessful penalty shot at 8:13. Over halfway into the second, Ken Neil tied up the game at 2, with assists from Charlie Adams and Garrett Milan. A minute later Kyle Haines put the Ice Flyers up a goal on the power play. He was assisted by Trever Hertz and Chapen LeBlond. Two minutes later at 15:23, assisted by Nathan Bruyere and Charlie Adams, Neil scored his second goal of the game. However, Birmingham brought the score within one 25 seconds later with a power play goal from Justin Larson with assists coming from Taylor Dickin and Sean Gammage. The Ice Flyers outshot the Bulls 26-11.
The third period was goalless, with neither team able to find the back of the net. The Ice Flyers outshot the Bulls 7-5.
Notes:
Ken Neil scored two goals.
Charlie Adams tallied two assists.
The Ice Flyers outshot the Bulls 44-30.
Jessyko Bernard scored his 25 goal of the season.
This coming weekend, the Ice Flyers will travel to Evansville to play the Thunderbolts in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday. Puck drop is at 7:15 p.m. for both games.
The next home game for the Ice Flyers is Kids Rule! Night, Tuesday, March 27 against the Mississippi RiverKings, puck drop at 7:05 p.m. This game is the rescheduled February 17 game against the Mississippi RiverKings. Any ticket purchased for the February 17 game will be valid for the March 27 game. All exchanges can be done at the Bay Center Box office in person Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Receive a complimentary kid's ticket (2-12) with the purchase of an adult ticket at the Bay Center Box Office. Each additional kid's ticket (2-12) will be $10.
