Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
The Pensacola Ice Flyers have committed to being more than a professional hockey team on the gulf coast, and this weekend's games versus the Knoxville Ice Bears are yet more evidence of that same commitment.
At the 7:05 PM game on Friday, November 4th, the Ice Flyers have partnered with the Fishin' Chix - a national fishing organization for women - to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. It is plain to see the importance of the Wounded Warrior Project, not only in the Pensacola area, but across the nation as well. The Fishin' Chix have been selling tickets for that night's game at a discounted price to raise money. Instead of the normal $18 individual game ticket price for the Mid-Center Ice Section, the cost through the Fishin' Chix is down to $15 per ticket. If at least 1000 tickets are sold, $5 of each ticket will be given back to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please note that these discounted tickets will not be available at the game, and must be purchased ahead of time.
There are other methods to take part in raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project this Friday night. Tickets can be purchased with the intent of attending the game, or for the Ice Flyers to donate to the local military in your name. Businesses can purchase tables at the event to display products and services as well. The cost is $250, which includes 20 game tickets to use or distribute as the business sees fit. $50 from the cost of the table will be directed towards the Wounded Warrior Project.
Gil Farmer, an Ice Flyers' season ticket holder who was wounded in Afghanistan, will perform the ceremonial faceoff on November 4th.
Those interested in purchasing tables and/or discounted tickets for the game on Friday, November 4th are asked to contact Hallie, National Marketing Director of the Fishin' Chix, at 850-501-1279 or hallie@fishinchix.com. Willa of the Ice Flyers can also be contacted at 850-466-3111 or willa@pensacolaiceflyers.com.
As Thanksgiving and Christmas draw nearer, the Ice Flyers also want to give their fans an opportunity to take care of the children as well and provide them with toys. Those in attendance on Friday night are encouraged to bring a toy to the game, as this night the Ice Flyers and their fans will amass as many as possible for the Toys For Tots Foundation.
The next fundraiser coming up for the Ice Flyers will be the next night during the home game on Saturday, November 5th. This will be a night dedicated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and will have Make-A-Wish kids and families in attendance and involved in different ceremonies. The Ice Flyers will have Charles "Bubba" Duke, an 8-year-old Make-A-Wish kid that is terminally ill, perform the ceremonial faceoff that night. He has known about dropping the puck at the Ice Flyers' game on the 5th for a couple months, and is extremely excited about it.
Once again, 1000 Mid-Center Ice tickets are for sale at the discounted rate of $15, instead of the normal $18 walk-up price. If over 1000 of the tickets are sold, $5 from each ticket will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Tickets purchased at this rate can either be used or donated them to a local charity or military of your choice by the Ice Flyers, and must be purchased ahead of time. The discounted rate will not be available at the game.
Please contact Willa at the Ice Flyers' office if interested in taking part in the Make-A-Wish Night with the Ice Flyers. She can be reached at 850-466-3111 or willa@pensacolaiceflyers.com.
As of now, the Ice Flyers have 15 of their 28 home games dedicated to fundraising nights. Anyone that is a part of an organization looking to raise money or have a home game dedicated to raising money for a cause, please contact the Ice Flyers' office at 850-466-3111.
