
Ice Flyers Acquire Defensemen Amburgey, Frieday

PENSACOLA, FL. (February 24, 2014) - T he Pensacola Ice Flyers, currently in first place in the SPHL standings, made a couple of trades to solidify the roster for the 2014 playoff run. The Ice Flyers acquired defenseman Tyler Amburgey from the Peoria Rivermen and defenseman Kyle Frieday from the Huntsville Havoc.
Amburgey, a 6' 2" and 205 lbs. native of Rowlett, Texas; was acquired in exchange for forward Justin Alonzo, the rights to defenseman Mike MacIntyre, and cash. In 34 games this season with the Rivermen, Amburgey had 21 points (5 g, 16 a), 33 penalty minutes, and an even plus/minus. Of his 21 points, 11 (1 g, 10 a) came on the power play.
Frieday is a 5' 7", 185 lbs. native of Burlington, Ontario and was acquired for future considerations. In 25 games for Huntsville, Frieday had 6 points (2 g, 4 a), 4 penalty minutes, and a +4 rating.
