Knoxville Ice Bears News Release
KNOXVILLE, TN- The Knoxville Ice Bears weekly radio show; Ice Bears This Week! will once again air on Wednesday January 15th at 6 P.M., rather than its scheduled Tuesday time. A transmitter problem at WKVL 850 AM has hampered shows of all sorts on the popular Knoxville station for the past week and a half.
"We apologize to all of our fans", said Ice Bears This Week! host Tom Sye. "Things have been a little crazy the past couple of weeks with the show because of Tuesday games and such, but we are striving to produce a show that is not only informative but fun to listen to as well. We want all of our fans to at least have the opportunity to listen to the show, and with the transmitter down, you'd have a better chance at hearing it if I shouted from the rooftop! WKVL has been great to us, and they suggested the move this week to Wednesday to ensure the show's success. They have been a great partner for us this year, and there is no doubt the Horne Radio Group shares the same goal of making the show the best that it possibly can be"!
The Ice Bears are preparing for a huge three game weekend featuring the Miss Ice Bear contest. Thursday and Friday nights, the Bears will host the Winston-Salem Parrots in two games with gargantuan playoff proportions. Then, on Saturday night, the first place Orlando Seals will visit the Knoxville Civic Coliseum for the eighth meeting of the season between the two teams. The Miss Ice Bear competition will begin Friday night, with the thirteen contestants soliciting donations for their favorite charities. On Saturday night, the full contest will commence as a celebrity panel of judges rate the contestants on evening and swimwear.
Group, flex and single game tickets are available now by calling 525-PUCK or by stopping by the Ice Bears offices at 500 Howard Baker Jr. Drive in Knoxville. It's your team!
