
Ice Bears' Kevin Swider Named SBK Player of the Month

CHARLOTTE, NC (December 1, 2011) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Kevin Swider of the Knoxville Ice Bears has been selected as the SBK Player of the Month for October/November.
Swider recorded 30 points (6 goals, 24 assists) in just 13 games in leading the Ice Bears to a perfect 7-0 record at home and second place in the SPHL standings.
A native of Livonia, MI, Swider recorded nine multi-point games and has only been kept off the scoresheet one time this year. His best game of the season came on October 27 when he scored two goals, added three assists and finished +4 in a 6-2 win over Fayetteville.
A four-year standout at Ferris State University, Swider was a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) All-Rookie Team selection in 1997-98 and received CCHA All-Academic Honorable Mention Team honors in 2000-01. Now in his tenth professional season, Swider entered the 2011-2012 campaign as the league's career leader in assists, points and power-play goals and currently holds or shares 21 SPHL records.
