Knoxville, TN - The Knoxville Ice Bears defeated the Augusta RiverHawks 7-2 in front of a ruckus crowd of 2,694.

August drew even at 2-2 when Tyler McReynolds beat Connor Toomey off a bouncing rebound at 8:56 and Matt Auffrey started a barrage of goals at 18:25 when he fired a shot from the point that beat a screened Toomey.

The Ice Bears poured it on in the final 1:25 of the opening period by scoring two power play goals. While no goals were scored, teams traded opportunities with the Ice Bears out shooting the RiverHawks 10-9.

The Ice Bears skated into the final period still leading 4-2 when, at 4:39, Klaver popped the water bottle off the RiverHawk net with a howitzer of slap shot. Fernandez notched his second goal of the evening at 10:44 when he was alone in front of the net after Eric Satim out worked the Augusta defender in the corner and fed him a well-placed pass. Captain David Segal scored the seventh and final goal of the game at 15:53 with a wraparound from behind the net when he stuffed the puck past Lee. The power play goal lifted Segal to lead all SPHL scorers in power play goals with seven.
