The lone goal of the opening period came early when Knoxville's Grauer skated through the left circle and cut across the crease with a low finish behind Ian Sylves at 1:58. Evansville had a couple notable chances to tie, but Davenport made a stretching save with the left pad and another diving attempt later on to keep the score at 1-0 at the end of the first.
Swider scored at 4:02 of the second from the slot to double Knoxville's lead. Neugold collected a loose puck off the left side of the crease and flipped it over a fallen Sylves to make it 3-0 at 6:59. He gave Knoxville a four-goal lead with a breakaway goal with 20 seconds remaining after fielding a beautiful saucer pass at the blue line from Mike Chen from the other end of the ice.
Grauer tallied his second of the night early in the third period to close out the scoring.
