ICE Announce Opening Games Playoff Dates

The Winnipeg ICE, in conjunction with the Western Hockey League, are pleased to announce the ICE will host the first two games in their opening round of the WHL Playoffs Friday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 23rd.
Both games will start at 7:00 at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
Entering this final week of regular season play, who Winnipeg will face is yet to be determined as Swift Current, Calgary, Regina and Prince Albert vye for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Once finalized who the ICE will play, the remainder of the playoff series schedule will be announced.
Swift Current currently holds the number eight seed by one point over Calgary and two points ahead of both Regina and Prince Albert. The Broncos have one game remaining, the Hitmen and Raiders each have two games while the Pats have three.
Two of those three games remaining for the Pats are here at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena Thursday and Friday, both starting at 7:00, giving us an early look at a possible first round matchup. 16 year old Pats forward Connor Bedard is currently second in the WHL with 49 goals, only trailing Ben King of Red Deer (50). Winnipeg has a 5-0 record against Regina this season led by 16 year old forward Zach Benson with 11 points (four goals and seven assists). Matthew Savoie leads the ICE with six goals against the Pats.

The ICE have set franchise records in wins and points during the 2021-22 regular season with two games to go.
Thursday versus the Pats is Carson Lambos Mini Bobblehead Night presented by Globe Moving & Storage.
The two teams will meet again Friday as the ICE close out the regular season on Fan Appreciation and Team Awards Night.
