Ibrahim Kasule, Frank Ssebufu Called in to Ugandan National Team Ahead of 2023 AFCON Qualifying Match against Niger

HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II players Ibrahim Kasule and Frank Ssebufu have been named to the roster of the Ugandan National Team ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Niger on September 7th.

The call is the second for Ssebufu, 22, who most recently featured for the senior team in three matches of the 2023 African Nations Championship this past January. This will be the first call to the senior national team for Kasule, 19.

The two Ugandans are currently the top goal scorers for New York Red Bulls II this season, with Kasule on 15 goals and Ssebufu on 8. Kasule is coming off his second consecutive Player of the Month award in MLS NEXT Pro and his MLS Debut with the first team on August 30th against New England Revolution.
