Ian Cameron, Joshua Phelps Suspended for One Game

South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release


STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC's Head Coach Ian Cameron and Tormenta FC defender Joshua Phelps will not be available for Sunday's League One match against Forward Madison FC.

Cameron and Phelps were shown red cards concluding Saturday's game against Northern Colorado on Saturday, June 11. The game finished 1-1 after the home side found an equalizer in the 99th minute of play, following seven minutes of added time.

First official Christian Campo Hernandez, assistant referees Karsten Gilwald, Mark Novosel and fourth official Marcelo Soto concluded that Cameron was shown a red card due to "dissent by word and action" following the final whistle. Phelps' red card was shown due to a second caution, which was given to the defender moments after the game ended.

South Georgia moves on from Saturday's 1-1 draw; without Cameron and Phelps, Tormenta FC now welcomes Forward Madison this Sunday, June 19, at Erk Russell Park, at 7:30 p.m ET.
