Iowa Cubs News Release
Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Cubs are closing in on the team's first Pacific Coast League playoff appearance since 2004. With 13 games left to play in the regular season, the I-Cubs lead the Memphis Redbirds by eight games in the American Northern Division and have a magic number of six to clinch the division title. (The I-Cubs clinch when any combination of I-Cubs wins or Memphis losses equals six).
Should the I-Cubs clinch the division title, the first two games of the best-of-five first round playoff series would be played at Principal Park on Wednesday, September 3rd and Thursday, September 4th and both games would start at 6:35 p.m.
The I-Cubs are currently on day five of a 13-game road trip that keeps the team away from Principal Park until Friday, August 29th. Each game will be broadcast live on 1460 KXNO and fans can check the I-Cubs official website, www.iowacubs.com
