Portland Chinooks News Release
The red hot Portland Chinooks are entering the home stretch of the 2013 International Basketball League season with six games left in regular play. They'll take on I-5 rival Salem on Friday night at 7:00pm at Eastmoreland Courts, coming off one of their biggest wins of the season. The Chinooks defeated the reigning league champions, Bellingham, sending the Slam limping home after suffering their first loss in eleven games. Portland has now won five straight, and eight of their past ten.
Salem has reason to give the sharp-shooting Chinooks their full attention as Portland holds a narrow half-game lead over the Sabres for 3rd place in the Continental Conference.
They'll have to go up against Portland's 'Fantastic Four' who are coming of an outstanding performance against the defending champs. Kevin Ford (6'9" C - Oral Roberts) played one of his best games as a Chinook. IBL player of the week Jared Cunningham (6'9" F - Cleveland State) is reliable as ever. David Lucas (6'8" F - Oregon State) would make his late father proud, showing why he's worthy of being team captain. Germain "Dr. J" Jordan (6'6" F - Dillard) continues to prove he's one of the Chinooks' most exciting players.
With playoff implications on the line, help Portland hold home court by joining us at Eastmoreland (3015 SE Berkeley Place, Portland) for a 7:00pm tip against Salem this Friday, June 14th. Support these rising stars as they shoot to continue their winning ways and bring Portland their first IBL championship. Eastmoreland Courts is also home to the IBL playoffs on July 4th weekend.
