Terry Emmert: a True Rock Star
June 30, 2014 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Portland Chinooks News Release
PORTLAND - The man who engineered the movement of the world's biggest rock has added another title to his list of accomplishments: Rock Star!
Terry Emmert, founder of the moving giant that is Emmert International, owner of the AFL's Thunder and the IBL's Chinooks was invited backstage at the KISS concert Friday night at Sleep Country Amphitheatre in Ridgefield.
Emmert has several things in common with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley; they own first-year professional football franchises for starters. While you won't see Terry paint his face, he is a big fan of KISS' music.
"It's really been great having such great owners as Gene and Paul with us along this journey. It was an even bigger thrill to see them in concert live," Emmert said.
The Thunder and KISS meet in Portland for the first time ever on Saturday, July 12th with playoff implications on the line. LA is expected to travel with their entourage. Original lead guitarist and Portland's own Tommy Thayer just might make an appearance. Stay tuned for exciting news on game night festivities.
But first, the team will spend their Independence Day weekend in Cleveland, Ohio trying to upset the league's second-best team. Kick-off between the Thunder and Gladiators is scheduled for 3:00pm Pacific time.
